With the government ban on cod fishing, some of the fisherman try to scrape out a meager living by fishing Lobster and Halibut but they are still unable to make ends meet. During the winter months they often rely on social security handouts from the government to survive.
For generations, families in fishing communities have survived of the bounties of the ocean. The family trade was passed from father to son. Now it is a way of life that has all but vanished. With the government ban there are no jobs, and only a few fishing communities remain.
